Our Story

A Love Worth Telling

Bride

How We Met

Sometimes your greatest blessing will come with a change of environment. The move to Dzivarasekwa Congregation was a huge adjustment for me, but I did not realise that I would be welcomed with yet another change, an adjustment that would be life changing. On the 10th of February 2025 he Whatsapp messaged me and told me he wanted to be more than friends. Ndakangoti, "Vatanga mabrother aya asingadi kuona manew sisters moving into a congregation." and I blocked him ipapo ipapo. Living in silence, he organised our congregation get-together and spoke to my sister Mufaro who convinced me to give him a chance. I unblocked him and we started texting again which led us our first date on the 7th of June 2025.

The Proposal

As for the proposal I just wanted to take my time and see if he was truly serious or simply trying to play games. I then accepted his proposal on Sunday the 8th of June 2025 at 1100 hrs. This guy has guts I must say, he came to our house and informed my dad personally that he was in love with me and wanted to date me. It was at that moment I knew he was "the one" because my mom would always say, "Wako anokuda mwanangu achauya kuzokumbira kudanana newe pamba pano kwete kunze kwamunofungira." He has been my greatest weakness since then and I have fallen deeper and deeper in love with him.

How We Met

I first noticed her in December 2024 when she joined our Dzivarasekwa English Congregation, and from that moment I couldn't look away. She was so beautiful that I chose to admire her from a distance, waiting for the right time. That time came after the convention in February 2025 when I finally gathered the courage to text her. My boldness nearly cost me, I spoke too soon about being more than friends and got blocked without even realising it 😅. Refusing to give up, I later spoke to her sister, who encouraged me to keep trying, and soon we began talking again this time with patience and purpose.

The Proposal

On 7 June 2025 we went on our first date. Though I arrived late, she gave me the chance to explain, and that evening I opened my heart and told her how long I had admired her and how serious my intentions were. The next morning at exactly 11:00am, she said yes and my world changed. Knowing that loving her meant honouring her family, I went to meet her father and shared my intentions. When he gave his blessing, I knew I had received one of life's greatest gifts. Since then it has been a journey of love, growth, and Jehovah's favour and as I always say, "J all the way ❤️", because for me it has always been and will always be Makanaka Jessica.

...and our greatest chapter is just beginning.
